King Tower are able to provide a variety of thread types for all kinds of fasteners, but as each fasteners may be used in a different way, it’s good to understand what type of thread you are looking for your custom fasteners.

There are three standard thread series in the fastener, Metric(M), UNC&UNF and BSW&BSF.

Metric thread is the most widely used today, usually remarked “M”, like thread diameter 3mm, we called M3. Metric Thread divided into coarse and fine thread. Coarse threads are larger pitch and easier to obtain than fine thread. Metric threads come in a variety of strengths, the grade ranging from 4.8, to 6.8, 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9.

UNC & UNF are the most commonly used thread type in the United States of America, UNC means Unified Coarse and UNF means Unified Fine. UNC the thread is strong coarse and deeper, and also have higher tolerance while manufacturing and plating, therefore UNC thread fasteners often used in agriculture industry. UNF the different is tight, this means that the UNF has better torque locking and load carrying ability than UNC. UNF thread fasteners are often used in the automotive and aerospace industry.

BSW&BSF are referred to as British Association and are an old-style British thread, BSW is coarse thread, and BSF is fine thread. BSF fasteners can be used on automobiles and machinery.
